Emir Of Kontagora passes away

Alhaji Saidu Umaru Namaska, the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Niger State, has reportedly passed away.

Although there’s no official statement from the family and palace regarding his demise, a source confirmed the passing away of the monarch.

Alhaji Saidu who ruled as the emir for 47 years died at an hospital in Abuja at the age of 84.

Three months before the death of the Emir, his son; Alhaji Bashar Saidu Namaska was reportedly gunned down his son during an attack on the monarch’s farm.

Bashar, who was the Sardauna of Kontagora before his death, held forth for his father when he (the father) was sick.

According to reports, Alhaji Bashar Saidu was on the farm along Zuru road in Kontagora Local Government Area when the bandits struck.

In addition, some of the people working with him been shot dead while unspecified number of cows were carted away.
