Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Governor – elect of the just concluded Anambra State Governorship Gubernatorial election has been presented with a Certificate of Return.
This was presented to him by the Independent National Electoral Commission at the presentation ceremony held at Awka, the state’s capital on Friday.
Also present at the ceremony was his Deputy.
The INEC Returning Officer had on Wednesday declared Soludo as the winner of the November 6 Gubernatorial election.
He won 19 of the 21 local governments areas including Ihiala LGA which had its supplementary election on Monday.
Soludo polled a total of 112,229 votes, thereby defeating his closest rivals, Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party who polled 53,807 votes, Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress who got 43,285 votes and Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party who polled 21,261 votes.
Soludo was the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance which is currently ruling the state with Governor Willie Obiano.
