Police nabs eight armed robbery suspects in Nasarawa

A suspected squad of eight armed robbers led by one Shamsu Uman has been apprehended, Nasarawa state police commands states.

This was disclosed by ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, who noted that the robbers allegedly attacked a house at Angwan Jarmi area in the Keffi Local Government Area of the state.

Giving details, he said “Upon receipt of the information, Police personnel attached to Angwan Lambu Division in Keffi LGA, launched a manhunt of the criminal elements and were able to arrest about eight of the suspected armed robbers.”

He further disclosed that the suspected armed robbers made way with goods, household items and a huge amount of money during the attack.

Fortunately, he stated that the police were able to retrieve some of these items from the robbers.

In his words, “Consequently, one HP laptop computer, one 32 inch Startimes Television, four sophisticated handsets of different brands, jewellery, one MP3 player, clippers and a cash sum of N223,950 were recovered from the suspects as exhibits,” he noted.

In similar story, ASP Nansel further noted that that officers of the Police Command have arrested three suspects who allegedly kidnapped the wife of one Ibrahim Sarkinnana at Ayongo village in the Awe Local Government Area of the state.

“As soon as we got the information about the kidnap of the woman, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi directed some officers of the command to go after the suspected kidnappers and they were able to arrest the suspects at their hideout,” he said.

ASP Nansel however added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi has directed that the cases should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia before charging the suspects to court.
